We had a lovely sunny day for our first painting day of the year at Avington Park Lake, near Itchen Abbas in Hampshire.
Avington Park Lake is an area of wild grassland overlooking Avington Lake in the Itchen valley.
The site has great views of the house across the lake, Avington Park was once part of the large Avington Park House estate.
The house dates back to the late sixteenth century, but has been considerably altered. It is now privately owned and is Grade I Listed.
Five artists enjoyed the view across the lake to Avington House.
There was plenty of wild life with swans, herons, dexter cattle on the meadow and even a swarm of bees that flew off across the lake!
Outdoor Painting days start at 10am and finish by 4pm.
You can arrive at any time between these hours and stay for as long (or as little!) as you wish.
Beginners and more experienced artists welcome. We are a very friendly and informal group, so please give it a try!
Bring your own art materials, chair, water and a packed lunch, drink and car-share whenever possible.
Don’t forget your camera to capture images for future reference. Queries- Sue Robinson 01420 82896
